The Sea Inside project is a community art project celebrating coastal towns and their
connection to the sea. Local residents were encouraged to explore their relationship with the ocean- sharing stories, learning about the coastal history and the lives of the marine
wildlife that share the coastline.
To celebrate people’s connection and appreciation of the sea, the stories and research
gathered were then brought together in a series of sea-inspired fabric collages. This large
community artwork was collated in the form of a patchwork sail, displayed at the local
museum, the Cromarty Courthouse Museum.
